Editorial standards
Our pages exist to help someone understand a plumbing problem and make a good decision. These are the rules we hold them to.
Technical review
Pages are researched and written by our editorial team from primary sources such as manufacturer documentation, plumbing codes, utility reports and licensing boards, then checked by automated quality controls for depth, duplication and broken links before they're published. When a licensed plumbing professional has technically reviewed a page, the page shows their name. Pages without a named reviewer say so.
Local information
- Every local fact names its source (for example a water utility report, the Census Bureau, NOAA, USDA soil survey or a licensing board).
- Facts are checked by a person against the source before a location page can be indexed.
- We don't publish a location page that would only repeat general information with a place name swapped in.
- Local facts older than 18 months are re-checked.
What we never publish
- Invented statistics, prices, reviews, testimonials, awards or credentials.
- AI-generated images presented as photos of real jobs. Photos are licensed stock images, and diagrams are labeled as diagrams.
- Photos on location pages are representative; we don't present stock photos as pictures of a specific city or job.
